When our son Andrew was born with Down syndrome he brought so much joy to our family that our kids nicknamed him "Happycake." They said "he makes you feel happy, like eating a piece of cake". Then we learned about the plight of abandoned children with Down syndrome around the world and we knew we had to make room for one more Happycake. “O Lord You hear the desires of the afflicted… You will incline your ear, to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed” Psalm 10:17-18.
